We only use CARBON frames on our bikes. Extremely high strength with unbeatable weight are the main features. A carbon frame is also more flexible than aluminum. Shocks and vibrations are absorbed much better. The production of such a frame is of course much more expensive than others and requires a great deal of experience in manufacturing.
Welded aluminum constructions are very susceptible to cracking under dynamic loads. In our opinion, they are of limited suitability for MTBs.
