BRAKE SYSTEMS
If you brake, you lose, or you're not as fast for as long... This saying is true for racers, but not necessarily for normal bikers. Enormous demands are placed on bike brakes. Always perfect function, high braking power, fine dosing. With the development of ever more powerful bikes, the demands on brakes have increased once again. The E-MTB also allows the normal sporty biker to reach great differences in altitude. After all, who doesn't like to go downhill a little more freely, quickly reaching speeds of 60 km/h and more? Since speed is squared in the equation for kinetic energy, doubling v = 30km/h to 60km/h quadruples the energy. We now convert this energy into heat when braking. Correct" braking therefore plays a major role in the thermal load on the brake system. If the brakes are allowed to drag continuously, additional heat is generated by friction.
In principle, the following applies: short, powerful braking with breaks is best for the brake system.
